Tucker and Dale vs. Evil
Tucker and Dale vs. Evil is a comedy horror movie. Tucker and Dale are best friends excited to go together on a vacation they planned for a long time. The hillbillies just bought their dream vacation house in the mountains. It’s actually a dilapidated house in the rough country. Trouble began when obnoxious college students reached their area. One of the girls got separated from her preppy friends. The two men tried to help her, but she got hurt in the process when she was startled. Tucker and Dale patched her up and informed her friends. When they saw them, they thought they had kidnapped their friend! As the college students tried to “rescue” their friend, one accident led to another. The accidents led to deaths. With dead bodies piling up, the two best friends were in deeper hot water. Audiences that enjoy this genre would find themselves at times laughing while other times frightened. They’ll enjoy this film by Eli Craig. The actors, Alan Tudyk (Tucker) and Tyler Labine (Dale) did a good job. Their acting was natural and some would even find some scenes touching, which is a surprise in this kind of a movie. Tucker and Dale vs. Evil had its debut in the Sundance Festival. Since its showing, it has won Fantasia’s Jury Prize for First Feature. Other awards were Sitges’ Best Motion Picture, Fantaspoa’s Best Director and SXSW’s Midnight Audience Award.
